Getting There |
Mexico City's Benito Juarez International Airport is served by most major airlines and has direct daily flights from almost every international destination. Depending on where you are flying from and on what airline, you will arrive at either of the two Terminals at the airport. |
| |
Airport Taxis |
Delegates should take one of several authorized taxi services at either Terminal to get from the airport to their Hotel. The authorized taxi booths are clearly marked and located directly outside international arrivals at both terminals. You will need to first purchase your fare at one of the booths, approximately USD $20.00, and then line-up for your cab.
You should not accept taxi services from individuals who approach you directly as they are not official providers. |

Should I worry about travelling to Mexico City? |
Mexico City is as safe as any other large metropolitan area. Delegates have probably read about the wave of narco-crime in Mexico that is front-page news everywhere. This is in large part a reaction to the strong measures that President Felipe Calderon has taken to eradicate the scourge.
However, delegates should be aware that these crimes are localized mostly in the border states of the country and in certain provinces such as Michoacan and Sinaloa. Mexico City itself has not felt the brunt of these types of incidents and is quite safe. The Camino Real Hotel & the 3rd Global ContactForum venue, the Centro Banamex, are both in upscale, secure neighborhoods as are the main tourist destinations in the city. |
